Registration

  • Student will have to register online to take the course.
  • Students will need their license number for registration.
  • Student can start the coursework right after they have paid for the course.
  • Students can take the course anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Refunds are allowed only within 30 days of course purchase.
  • Students can only take the course once in a calendar year.

Completion

  • Students will need to complete the courses that the have registered for within 6 months.
  • Students will be able to print out the certificate after course completion.
  • AdvanceCosmo.com will submit coursework completion to TDLR within 24 hours after student has completed the course.

TDLR Regulations

Texas Department of License and Regulation (TDLR) approved continuing education (CE) hours will be required to renew a cosmetology license.

The hours required must be completed within the term of the license being renewed.

To renew an operator license, or an esthetician, manicurist, esthetician/manicurist or eyelash extension specialty license, or a hair weaving, or wig specialty certificate, a licensee must complete a total of 4 hours of continuing education through department-approved courses. The continuing education hours must include the following:

  • 1 hour in Sanitation required under the Act and this chapter; and
  • 3 hours in any cosmetology-related topics.

To renew an instructor license, or an esthetician instructor, manicure instructor, esthetician/manicure instructor or eyelash extension instructor specialty license, a licensee must complete a total of 4 hours of continuing education through department-approved courses in the following manner:

  • 1 hour in Sanitation required under the Act and this chapter; and
  • 3 hours in methods of teaching
